The Friendship Circle

Volunteer with Children with special Needs
The Friendship Circle’s unique approach brings together teenage volunteers and children with special needs for hours of fun and friendship. These shared experiences empower children with special needs, while enriching the lives of everyone else involved.

Teenage volunteers learn the priceless value of giving, the curative power of friendship, and the vital importance of integrating children with special needs into the community.

SUNDAY CIRCLE:
On the first Sunday of every month*, children and friends gather for 2 fun-filled hours of activities. Our group participates in music, movement, art and Judaic as well as specialties such as cooking, science and sports.
FRIENDS AT HOME:

This weekly program has teenage volunteers spending quality time with children with special needs in the environment the kids are most comfortable and familiar with: their own homes.

SUMMER CAMP
This is the week where teens are back from their summer vacations, and are hanging around at home until school starts. This would be a very productive way for teens to spend their last week of summer before the new school year! This will be an
action-packed, day camp full of fun and educational trips around New York City.

1. Develop and utilize leadership skills.
2. Receive community service hours (about 25).
3. Feel success when you see your camper’s happiness and growth throughout the week
