Graduation 2019

The Y2s participate in the following Ceremonies:
1. The College Commencement (AA) 
Ceremony with BHSECs Queens and Newark at the Hunter College Auditorium, North, 68th St. between Park and Lexington Ave.s
2. The Honors Convocation at BHSEC

HERE ARE THE DATES TO SAVE:

    • Students and families will be notified via email in the event of a date change. Also check the BHSEC web calendars for the most current information):
      • June 18: Mandatory Commencement rehearsal at Hunter College, 11 a.m.
      • June 18, 2019, 8pm-12am: Year 2 Formal (Prom) at Manhattan Penthouse, 80 Fifth Ave.
      • June 20Mandatory Honors Convocation rehearsal/cap & gown distribution, BHSEC , 11 a.m.
      • June 21, 4-6pm: Honors Convocation at BHSEC
      • June 26: AA Commencement at Hunter College, 4 p.m.

June 18 – MANDATORY Commencement Rehearsal – Hunter College Auditorium, North
When: Students MUST arrive at 10:30am
Where: Hunter College,  Auditorium North, 1st Floor, 695 Park Ave, NY, NY 10065

June 18 – Y2 Formal (aka, Prom) – THE Party to celebrate the Class of 2019 in style!  If you bring a guest to the Formal, the fee is $100. All attendees (grads and guests) are required to sign a Y2 Formal Contract agreeing to a standard of behavior which is required by the venue. All contracts and guest fees are due no later than May 21. Anyone bringing a guest must submit both contracts and the guest fee (in cash or money order) at the same time.

When: Tuesday, June 18

Where: Manhattan Penthouse, 80, Fifth Avenue, Manhattan

June 20 – MANDATORY High School Honors Convocation Rehearsal – BHSEC Auditorium – You will receive your cap & gown, ceremony tickets, invitations, Grad Gift bag, and we will have a Yearbook signing party after the rehearsal!

When:  11:00am
Where: BHSEC Auditorium

June 21  – HONORS CONVOCATION – gowns only – NO CAPS – at BHSEC Manhattan
When:
4pm **Students MUST arrive AN HOUR BEFORE THE CEREMONY
Where: BHSEC, 525 E. Houston, Manhattan
Details:
1. The ceremony is approximately 1.5 hrs.
2. This is the Academic Departmental Honors ceremony, a more intimate gathering with your classmates, the faculty, and parents where Departmental Honors for outstanding scholastic work and service are given out, and Regents diplomas are presented. There is a brief reception in the garden after the ceremony.
3. DUE TO THE LIMITED CAPACITY OF OUR AUDITORIUM each graduate receives 2 guest tickets only. Guest must present a ticket at the door to be admitted.

June 26 – COLLEGE COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY – wear gowns AND caps
When: Students MUST arrive at 3:00pm, ceremony starts at 4pm
Where: Hunter College Auditorium – Students will enter across the street and cross over a pedestrian skywalk to convene & line up before the ceremony. Guests will go straight into the auditorium.

Details:
1. The ceremony is approximately 2 hours.
2. This is the COLLEGE/AA graduation ceremony.  Manhattan, Queens and Newark BHSEC  graduates come together for a more formal event than the Honors Convocation. Leon Botstein, the president of Bard College, addresses all graduates, and students receive their Associates Degree diplomas.
3. Guests must present a ticket to enter. If you would like additional tickets (besides the four given to each family) please contact Ms.Turitz (cturitz@bhsec.bard.edu), 212-995-8479, ext 2281.
Doors will open at 3:30pm

**We will A professional photographer will be taking photos of each student at the AA Ceremony. Photos  will be available for purchase on-line after the ceremonies. 

**Tickets for both graduations will be distributed at the Honors Convocation rehearsal
