City College of New York: Art Education

Want to experiment with new materials or methods of making art? Curious about how to think like an artist? Eager to build an artistic portfolio?

Explore different approaches to creating art in this FREE after-school arts workshop with practicing artists from City College of New York. Over the course of 12 weeks, participants will investigate multiple ways to make art, from printmaking and drawing to sculpture and interactive art. Final collaborative works will be publicly exhibited at the City College of New York and other NYC galleries. All classes are FREE, and all ART SUPPLIES ARE PROVIDED. All New York City high school students are welcome to apply. There is no need for previous art experience—beginners are welcome!

The opportunity to participate in this community-based arts project, provides both CCNY Art Education graduate students and neighborhood youth with multiple possibilities for learning and growth.

Explore new materials and methods with practicing artists.  Meet other art-minded teens from all over NYC. Develop artwork for a portfolio. Learn about life in college while on campus at CCNY. Collaborate with graduate students to help them become better better educators.  Exhibit your artwork.
