Brooklyn Youth Chorus Academy

At BYCA, when we train singers, we nurture their voices and ambitions. We consider a young voice a resource that needs care, encouragement and time to blossom. The old-fashioned notion of learning by doing is alive here, paired with a modern, healthy approach so our singers can develop and thrive.

We will be holding auditions in November for the mid-year registration in January, if space is available. To be placed on the audition notification list, please contact us at registration@brooklynyouthchorus.org.

Brooklyn Youth Music Project

The Brooklyn Youth Music Project is a nonprofit organization based in Brooklyn and serving young musicians age 5 to 18 from all over Brooklyn. Our mission is to provide young musicians with a high standard of training and performance, in ensembles large and small. We aim to provide opportunities for students to perform a wide variety of music, including classical, contemporary and jazz.

We are proud that the Brooklyn Youth Orchestra, our flagship ensemble, is the only program in the borough with two levels that welcomes children from both public and private schools by providing need-based financial aid. All young musicians who pass the audition can participate. Three quarters of the youth orchestra members attend public schools. Our programs, which include children from more than 50 different public schools and a handful of independent schools, are a celebration of diversity.
