Bklyn Public Library

Brooklyn Public Library

Brooklyn Public Library is offering two exciting volunteer opportunities called After-School Homework Helper  and High School Tutor.

The After School Homework Help program trains volunteers age 16 and over to help children grades 1-8 with their homework. Volunteers will tutor one-on-one or in small groups with math, reading, science, and other assignments.

The High School Tutor program trains volunteers age 16 and over to help high school students in grades 9-12 in various subjects. Tutors provide support, assistance, and encouragement to students as they prepare for standardized tests apply for college, and complete homework assignments.

Homework Helpers and High School Tutors volunteer at their local library one day a week during after-school hours for a period of 6 months. These volunteer programs offer an important resource to Brooklyn youth and communities. Homework Helper volunteers gain both satisfaction from helping others and valuable experience working with children.
