NYC Board of Correction: Internship

The intern will work closely with Board of Correction’s Director of Research and Analysis and other staff to help analyze compliance by the NYC Department of Correction (DOC) and Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) with the Health Care Minimum Standards, and other legal mandates, Department directives, orders, policies, and procedures.

This is an unpaid internship.

The intern will assist as follows:

  • Review DOC records
  • Aggregate and electronically input records to facilitate data analysis
  • Perform literature review
  • Help prepare written reports

Necessary qualifications or skills:

  1. Enrolled in college or high school;
  2. Detail-oriented; and
  3. Strong interest in public health, criminal justice, or law

Preferred qualifications or skills:

  1. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel;
  2. Analytical skills; and
  3. Excellent writing skills
