Visions Services for the Blind

VISIONS has a volunteer program starting at age 16.  High school volunteers as part of VISIONS intergenerational activities assist with reading, escorting clients in the community and helping in activities and projects. In addition to the these, adult volunteers also teach classes or workshops.

We currently offer bowling, photography, ceramics, percussion, quilting, knitting, arts & crafts, library, radio station and computer classes. Volunteers set their own schedules based on classroom space availability on a particular day and time. If you are interested in starting a class, you must submit a brief proposal.

Program Incentives:   Students receive a letter of recommendation, community service hours, metrocards if needed, a gift card of his/her choice, and certificate upon completion of program.
